Kyle's Inspiration and Journey in the Industry

"I’ve been an entrepreneur since an early age! Business in general just motivates me! I like connecting with people and making relationships. Relationships = $$. Once I realized that I just started branding and connecting with others that could use our services. We started in 2017 with junk removal, and added demolition in 2018 then added dumpster rentals shortly after in 2019. Offering multiple services has been unique and given us the ability to grow faster! If you are looking to start in the waste management space, start with junk removal. Thank me later ;)"

Navigating Challenges with Resilience

"When I first added dumpster rentals as a service, I realized quickly that I’d be the one running the dumpster division. Since my team was focused on serving our junk removal clients, I was left to not only transport dumpsters but find dumpster clientele. I did not budget for a full time driver before ordering the truck which forced me to learn the equipment and operate it. This was tough since I was also trying to run the company and my crews. It made for much longer days. Learning the equipment, marketing the equipment, repairing the equipment.

Even though it required me to wear multiple hats I truly believe it helped us scale to 25 dumpsters and 2 trucks in less than 3 years. Moral of the story, if you want to add a service or new feature to your business, be willing to put in the extra hours to learn it, master it and create top notch training around it for your team."

Advice for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

"Life is all about problem solving. Of course we have had bad days, slow times, and day to day issues, but it’s about how you show up and present yourself! The minute you go quiet, you lose! Just keep moving forward, success isn’t going to happen over night. You need to prove to your market that you are a legitimate company. Give your local area a reason to keep calling by having great service skills and being presentable. Things take time to start and they take even more time to master. Stay HARD! "

Welcome to this edition of our newsletter! Let's dive into the wild world of junk hauling together, where every hurdle is just a stepping stone to new discoveries. It's like every piece of junk has its tale, and the challenges we encounter along the way are packed with lessons waiting to be uncovered.

Navigating the Hauling World

In the hustle of junk hauling, staying nimble and strategically planning ahead are absolute game changers. Try shifting from just reacting to things as they come, to being proactive, prepared, and adaptable - a real lesson in the power of operational flexibility.

Getting Creative and Pulling Together

Facing tough spots has pushed us to think outside the box and tighten our teamwork. Whether it's stepping up with full-service junk removal when no dumpsters were available to rent or joining forces with our competitors to share resources. We've flipped potential drawbacks into wins, boosting our service and making solid local connections with other business owners.

Collaboration Over Competition

Teaming up, instead of butting heads, with fellow haulers has sparked so much innovation and efficiency. It's clear there's plenty of room for everyone to succeed. Consider this: Are you worried about stepping on each other's toes? Why not partner up with businesses that complement yours? Say, if you're only in junk removal but don't do dumpster rentals, finding a company who does can offer your customers the full package. It's a win-win, broadening what you both can offer.

Actionable Tips to Keep Rolling

  • Stay Agile: Be ready to switch gears based on what the market throws at you.

  • Think Creatively: Always be on the lookout for clever fixes to tricky situations. Remember, there's always more than one way to solve a problem.

  • Collaborate: Don't shy away from collaborating with others to beef up what you can offer.

  • Communicate: More is always better than less. Always lean on the side of over-communicating with your customers to build trust and appreciation.

  • Go Green: Seek opportunities to recycle and donate, enhancing community and environmental well-being.

Remember, the path to success is filled with learning and growth opportunities. Embrace each challenge that comes your way as a chance to improve and innovate your business.

"Those times when you stay up late and you work hard; those times when don't feel like working — you're too tired, you don't want to push yourself — but you do it anyway. That is actually the dream. That's the dream. It's not the destination, it's the journey." — Kobe Bryant

Till next time, keep hauling with purpose and pride, turning every obstacle into a win. Here's to the strides we're making and the difference we're creating, one haul at a time.
